The Big Picture

A lot of modifications have been identified on RNA molecules, the function
of which has not been studied well. One of the most prevalent
modifications on mRNA and lncRNA is m6A. Current breakthrough on
biochemical and sequencing methods to detect m6A cannot provide spatial
distribution and neither the heterogeneity of it. I am developing a
super-resolution imaging approach to detect RNA m6A modification
site-specifically. Based on the imaging platform, I will study the effect
of the m6A on RNA molecules in terms of localization, function,
translation and degradation.
