The Big Picture

I am using silicon and carbon based nanomaterials to study peptide signaling systems in plants.

In plants, peptide signaling is utilized to communicate information about cell proliferation and differentiation as well as responses todifferent environmental stimuli. However, knowledge of when and where peptide signaling occurs, how the signaling peptides get
moved, and autonomous and non- autonomous signals is lacking. To gain a better understanding of the peptide signaling networks in
plants, I plan to create tools that will enable us to introduce molecular probes and take time-course images without causing damage to a plant
