The Big Picture

Understanding massive, stress-induced cellular assemblies

mRNA condenses in response to a wide variety of stresses across life. I aim to understand which mRNAs condense, the mechanism by which mRNAs are recruited to condensates, and the physiological role RNA condensation plays during stress. To answer these questions, I study heat shock in the budding yeast S. cerevisiae and combine cell biology, biochemical/biophysical, and computational approaches.
