The Big Picture

My work focuses on analyzing metagenomic sequence data to reveal processes governing protein evolution within microbial populations. Specifically, I have recently become interested in quantifying levels of purifying selection in microbes within the human gut and comparing these levels across different geographies, cultures, and ethnicities. My role as a software developer for anvi'o, an analysis and visualization platform for multi-omics data, both propels and is propelled by my research.
