Metabolic modeling of microbial interaction networks by applying biochemistry and ecology

With theoretical and computational techniques, I predict the growth and yield of specific microbial communities under given environmental conditions. Looking at the biochemical reactions within each specie’s metabolism, I build community metabolic models to identify specific genes and regulatory mechanisms that may limit or enhance growth and yield. These models could inform which genetic manipulations might greatly constrain or enhance the consortia productivity with biomedical and biotechnology applications.
