The Big Picture

Using statistical and computational techniques to understand genome-wide interactions

My work focuses on developing and applying statistical and computational techniques to understand genomic data. How to best identify genes with rhythmic expression remains an open question, as does how to interpret different expression patterns in the context of physiology and disease. Currently, I am focusing on the analysis of tissue, environment, and disease-specific circadian genome-wide expression data in D. melanogaster. Identifying the difference in expression behavior will lead to better understanding of the role of circadian rhythms in human disease, and hopefully suggest potential cures.
